Rebellion Front CD.jpg

Titled "Rebellion," our third CD showcases the band's collaboration. With the addition of new songs, styles, and ideas we have undergone a transformation, resulting in an enchanting fusion of

Celtic music.

Rebellion

"Rebellion" is a powerful tribute to the Scottish spirit, crafted by Paul in 2016. Drawing from his childhood memories in Scotland and Northern England, the song captures the essence of the tales shared around firesides about the 1745 Scottish rebellion against the British Crown. While the events of the '45' have often been romanticized, Paul's lyrics reflect the profound impact and devastation experienced by the Scottish people, making this song a heartfelt homage to their resilience and history.

North of Argyll

This song was written by Paul in 2022. The song is basically a reflection on life.We all have stories to tell about our lives. This song is Paul reflecting on his life and focusing on the present, because that's all we have. We can create our own happiness whenever we want. That's was Paul created 'North of Argyll.'

Macpherson's Lament

This is a traditional Scottish tune written approximately 1710-1730. Scottish outlaw and fiddler James MacPherson on the eve of his execution, just before he was hanged on November 16, 1700. He reportedly played the tune on his fiddle at the gallows in Banff before breaking it. This tune features fiddle and small pipes as well as Bodhran.

I Will Go

This is our interpretation of another traditional Scottish tune.
The song is a poignant Jacobite ballad translated from Gaelic, telling the story of a soldier returning home to the land of MacLeod after the fighting has ended.
It's a tale of war, soldiers returning from battle, and sometimes themes of the Highland Clearances. It is frequently associated with longing, loss, and the aftermath of conflict, often sung in a melancholic but defiant tone.

North West Passage

This song was written by Paul in 2016. Paul had just finished watching a National Geographic program about the 'Franklin Expedition.' Paul was inspired to write 'North West Passage based on the true story and in honor of the sailors who died, trying to find the 'North-West Passage.'

The Watch

This song is a true story. William McLeish, the great-grandfather of Paul,  served as a sergeant in the Black Watch Regiment during War One. He valiantly fought in the Battle at the Battle of Ypres, where he sustained injuries amidst the turmoil. In a pivotal moment of crisis, a piper stood up and played the pipes, galvanizing the soldiers and ultimately leading to an unforeseen victory. This song pays tribute to the bravery of the Scottish soldiers and Pipers who fought for freedom.

Immigrant

Paul wrote this song in 2016. Paul left Scotland in 1984 and moved to the USA. One of the last things he did before he left was to visit the 'Carter Bar Pass,' that lies on the Scottish border. Paul spent many times as a young lad in that area, and he wanted to remember the view over the hills just in case he never returned.

Paul says that he can still remember that day

and the view in his mind's eye, many years later.

Prestonpans

The battle of Prestonpans was a battle that took place outside the town of Prestonpans in Scotland in 1745. The battle was a  15 minute victory for the clans during the the 1745 Scottish rebellion. The song was written in 2018 by Paul, to commemorate the bravery of the Scottish soldiers who fought that day.
